> happens practically all the time, and, did not happen in previous version. Meanwhile only small bugfixes were made that seem to have nothing to do with that issue. Please give this latest one a try and let me know how it works on your machine.
got the update (072409) installed.
choi is visiting a friend this weekend, so,
will not have a chance to try it till monday.
she's the expert at this game :)
will give you feedback later monday (pst).
thank you.
sorry didn't get back to you sooner, but, we are having a bit
of a heat blast here - 2nd day (of 3 or 4 days) > 100 degree weather.
kind of makes it, ugh!, to do much of anything :)
choi has played the newest version you sent - i think she still
has that issue of game quits after reaching level 4 with the odd beep;
even after a clean reboot and starting the game first.
i showed her this forum, so, when she garners the strength, she'll
gladly reply.
till then, i hope you are patient.
thank you.
I actually have no idea what kind of issue it could be, that your game quits after Level 4. Can't reproduce it here so the only chance could be you save shortly before that issue will happen and sent me the quicksave.dat file. (Maybe it will happen here, too)
hello...
have her saved game file (quicksave.dat). she was playing
above avg board, and right afterwards it beeps and sent her to
high scores, game over.
she also noticed in bottom left, words - active timer reset.
does not seem to happen in lower level boards.
can send file to you via email if you wish - as can't seem
to figure out how to do it from here.

Yes, send it please. If you're looking for my email and can't find it... ThWit@freenet.de
>she also noticed in bottom left, words - active timer reset. this is a starting point for bug hunting... I'll see what could be wrong with it.
[edit] could it be possible you have a mixed set of data-files with different versions in your actual 99 Seconds Folder?
[edit II] No Problems with the Hidden-Timer here. But there could be a problem (like many times before) with an older version of the gameconfig which is saved as HiScores.dat in the 99 Seconds Folder. Version 0.97 has (again) some new values, that did not exist in earlier versions. That could solve the issue, so give it a try. Just rename or remove the old Hiscores.dat and let the game create a new one. (Maybe 99 Seconds should do that automatic with every new release)
i did a virus scan - 1 suspect file (deleted)
i deleted all the files in main 99 seconds game folder
except the latest exe file - keeping the latest version you
sent.
this time choi made it to level 9 in above avg level.
then, started beeping, timer reset, and went to high scores.
an improvement, she just may not be fast enough.
being a quadreplegic, speed is not her forte :)
she does enjoy playing 99 seconds.
Wonder what this could be. The only 3 possible ways, goint to the Hiscores are; *pressing escape and leftclicking on abort *your points (not your score) have reached 0 *no more moves will show give up and if leftclicked will go to the highscores
As this phenomen happens so often on your machine try to observe it Have a look at the points for example, do they count to 0 ? When the beeping starts what is just happening in the game? is it allways the level complete sequence? or can it happen anytime?
I think your points reach the critical limit and the sound "alert02.wav" is played to warn you, that your very last seconds are running in the Game. This is normal. Open the Sounds Folder and listen to alert02.wav, maybe this is the beeping.
just an update on choi's experiences with 99 seconds.
1st: she loves this game! :)
she reboots for a clean start of 99 seconds; and, it
still beeps at different levels - not consistant at which
level - she can get to higher levels.
she's tried saving (level 4) and still beeps (it is the
sound wav of: alert02.wav) afterwards.
happens at various, random levels of skill.
only one it doesn't happen on is the level vs. joker.
the hightest level she's reached is level 8 on skill above
avg.
points do not reach count of 0.
happens anytime, not level complete sequence.
